Make Your Own Luck

Today is my father-in-law's lucky day. Most of the positive things that have happened in his life were on Friday the 13th.

That just proves that you make our own luck. A quick thought experiment...

Imagine you are standing in line at the bank. Suddenly a maniac runs in and fires one shot with his gun. The bullet hits you in the arm. No one else is hurt.

Quick: are you lucky or unlucky? I'll wait...

  • If you said you were "lucky" then you are. That bullet could have hit you somewhere vital.
  • If you said "unlucky" then you are too. Of all the people in the bank, why did you get shot?

Attitude determines perspective. Luck is a matter of perspective. If you believe you are lucky, then you will be.

So this Friday the 13th, stop telling yourself how unlucky you are. Switch that perspective and good things will start to happen.
