Explanation: Any computer network that spans across metropolitan, regional, or national boundaries.

Cost: Variable. You can use the internet to establish a slow yet cheap WAN. If you need speed, it will cost more.

Recommendation: Useful if you have multiple business locations and need them to communicate information to each other.

Analogy: The internet is just one enormous WAN.
