Comic Strip Vindication

I love xkcd. These wacky web cartoons are aimed right at the geek audience which makes them ideal for me. A recent xkcd comic hit near and dear to my heart recently and I wanted to share it with you today.

Back in 2008, I wrote how cloud computing would end the operating system wars. Three years later and my prediction is still accurate -- which makes me enormously happy. I would hate to have to disagree with the geniuses at xkcd!

At the end of it all, the majority of computer users are primarily interested with getting on the internet. We don't care about the pretty animations displayed during those tedious file copies. We want our email, calendar, contacts, Facebook and any other tools we use to make money, have fun and find information.

And the majority of those tools are in the Cloud.
